Revlon's Galaxy Dream Palette

March 21, 2018

Hello my badass beauties!
Today I have a review of the ethereal Galaxy Dream Palette by Revlon. I purchased this palette back when it first came out at Wal-Mart for $13 & I've been in love with it ever since.
I'm so excited to see a drugstore brand hop on the "holographic" or iridescent / duochrome highlighter bandwagon.
In the pan, these highlighters don't look too exciting but when you swatch them, that's when the magic happens! It's a stunning palette & my photos don't do the swatches or the palette justice, but let's get to them!

pinky-orange, green, lilac-pink, & silver.

Finger swatches with flash.
Without flash.

I really love this higlighting palette. The formula isn't chalky like some highlighters, but it's actually pretty smooth and easy to apply and blend. A few of the shades sort of remind me of Kat Von D's alchemist palette. The only complaint I have is I wish the silver would have had  a blue shift to it, because that would have made this palette even more amazing. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below! As always, thanks so much for reading.

Hard Candy's Out of This World Galactic Eyes Eyeshadow Palette!

March 13, 2018

Hello my badass beauties! I was finally able to find Hard Candy's Galactic Eyes palette at Wal-Mart so obviously I snatched it up. If you know me personally, you know I love anything and everything space(and beauty, obviously) so this palette is right up my alley.
The shades in the pans look stunning, & the packaging of the palette had me hooked due to it's holographic/iridescent lettering and design. This palette retails for $8 & you get 10 galaxy inspired shades that can be worn alone or layered on top of other shadows for a transforming effect.

I absolutely love the holographic packaging!

Close-Up on the shades along with their names.

One of the things I was pleasantly surprised about this palette is it actually comes with a real double ended brush instead of one of the spongy type applicators that most drugstore palettes have. For these swatches I didn't actually have to dig into the palette, I only lightly used my fingers to get the product out of the pans so I know if you are more aggressive with swatching they will be even more pigmented. One thing I noticed is it seems certain shades seem to have different formulas, because Supernova(purple) & Meteor(red) are very dry compared to the other shades that seem silkier and more pigmented, and easier to apply. Another thing is they are very hard to apply with brushes so I do not recommend doing so, it's much easier to apply them with your finger and then blend them out with the brush. So let's get to the swatches!

From left to right: Constellation, Shooting Star, Alien, Blue Moon, Meteor, Eclipse, Nebula, Spaceship, Retrograde, & Supernova.

I used the shade Blue Moon all over my lid & it performed decently. It blended well & there's a lot of sparkle packed in there.

The whole palette has a foiled type formula & I did one to two swipes of the pigment for each swatch. Out of all 10 shades, I was most disappointed with the purple and red due to the formula difference & they were the hardest to build up. Hopefully these two will be much more pigmented the more you build them up. I love how sparkly all of the colors are because there's really no duds in this palette, it just takes some patience for a few of them.
I've been using Hard Candy for quite some time now & I remember back when the Meteor Eyes Baked Glitter Eyeshadow Collection came out, which had some of my absolute favorite shades at the time. Hard Candy has really stepped their game up in product range, selection, & quality over the years and I love how affordable their products are.
What do you think of this palette? Have you tried it? Let me know in the comments down below!
As always, thank you so much for reading.

Possible Stila Dupe?

February 26, 2018

Hey badass beauties!
As you all know from my Wet N Wild Midnight Mermaid review, I bought 3/4 of the liquid eyeshadows, and if you haven't seen that review you can read it here!
One of the shades I purchased is called Mysterious Nights, and I realized it looks extremely similar to my Stila Magnificent Metals Liquid Eyeshadow in Molten Midnight. Coincidence? Maybe! Possible dupe? Let's find out!

Alright so I swatched both on my arm side by side to really see how similar they are, because just looking at them in their packaging they look super similar.

Here are the swatches, both only one swipe across my arm:

Stila on top, Wet N Wild on the bottom.

You can definitely see a difference in the two.

Results?
Both dry down completely and are beautiful when swatched and applied on the eyes. Neither feel heavy or uncomfortable on my eyes, but both have quite a bit of glitter fallout. Stila's is definitely more opaque and glittery, whereas Wet N Wild's has a good amount of glitter but is definitely more metallic and more buildable. For the price, I think Wet N Wild's Liquid Catsuit Eyeshadows are a good, affordable alternative to Stila's Magnificent Metals! Since Mysterious Nights was from their limited edition Midnight Mermaid collection you can no longer purchase that exact shade, but Wet N Wild just dropped a whole new line of Megalast Liquid Catsuit Eyeshadows & included all of the liquid shadows under different names. Mysterious Nights is now known as Black is the New Black! Yes I realize there aren't as many colors to choose from on Wet N Wild's line (as of yet) & this shade is more metallic, so this is probably a truly coincidental dupe.
If you love the high sparkle, stand-out eye & can afford to splurge, I highly recommend buying one of Stila's Liquid eyeshadows! However, if you aren't ready to make that big of a commitment to one product & still want that glittery metallic eye, Wet N Wild is a perfect choice!
In case you didn't know, Stila's Magnificent Metals Liquid Eyeshadows retail for $22 and you get .153 fl oz of product, while Wet N Wild's Liquid Eyeshadows retail for $5 & you get .12 fl oz of product.

What are your thoughts? Do you have any dupes for Stila's Magnificent Metals? Let me know in the comments below! As always, thanks so much for reading!

PUR Cosmetics Glitters Review & Swatches

February 03, 2018

Hey badass beauties!
I'm back after a long few months of inactivity & I sincerely apologize for that. It's just been really hectic in my personal life and all of that, but anyways let's get on with these beautiful glitters!

I recently received three of the five Quick Pro Glitters Eye Polishes from PUR Cosmetics for free in exchange for an honest review, so here it is!

The three colors I received are Queenie(yellow gold), Namaslay(rose gold), & Lust(cranberry). The other two colors I did not receive are Midnight diamond(charcoal) & OMG(brown with rainbow shimmer).

The color Lust and the built in applicator brush that comes with the pigments.

They are extremely pigmented and have their very own built in primer! They are packed with ultra fine glitter which is much more pleasant than some liquid shadows that are filled with chunkier glitter. The brush makes for easy application and you get so much pigment with one swipe, but there is some glitter fallout as to be expected. Here are some swatches!

Swatches of Queenie, Namaslay, & Lust(from left to right).

Swatches up close with flash.

I have yet to apply them to my eyes but when I do, I'll update this post with photos to show how they blend and hold up throughout the day.
I think the colors in this collection are absolutely perfect for fall, so I look forward to getting to use them for some beautiful fall looks(but I'll definitely be using them before then too)! The colors are not sold individually so you would be buying the full set of five liquid eyeshadows for $39(compared at $93!) which is a steal for these, especially considering the quality and pigmentation. PUR Cosmetics has high quality products that are fairly budget friendly, which is a win-win for everyone. You can purchase them on their official website here.
I highly recommend you give these a try, and if you do I hope you love them as much as I do.
As always, thanks for reading!

NYX Haul & Review!

February 02, 2018

Hey badass beauties!
NYX was having a sale going on recently and I saw it as the perfect opportunity to splurge and buy what I've been wanting to try.
The products arrived quickly & they came in the cutest black lace drawstring bag!

The products that I purchased are:
Pigments in Metallic Velvet
Highlight Pro Singles in Ice Queen
Hot Singles Shadow in Dressed to Kill
Nail Lacquer in Opalesque, Roller Disco, & Navy Star

Let's get down to the full face look I created using all NYX products.

Using Hot Singles Shadow on the lid, Pigments in the crease, and roll on shimmer in the corner.

Liquid Suede Metallic Matte. Review here.

Hot Singles Shadow swatches with & without primer.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase! All of the items exceeded my expectations, and I don't really have any complaints. I'm definitely going to be buying from NYX more often! I'll probably do swatches of the nail polish in another post.
I hope you guys enjoyed this review and as always, thanks so much for reading!

Makeup Revolution Give Them Nightmares Palette Review

November 03, 2017

Helloooo, my badass beauties! I hope everybody had a wonderful Halloween! I am sorry again for the inactivity as of lately. I intended to do this post on Halloween, but my Halloween wasn't so great. I had a neurology appointment for my botox injections for my chronic refractible migraines, so I had 31 injections in my head, forehead, sides of face, neck, and back of head. One of the injection sites started pouring blood all the way from my head, down my neck, down to my shirt. It always bruises & bleeds but this is the first time it's been this bad. Perfect day for it since it's Halloween I guess?!? I have to have a sense of humor about all of this otherwise it gets a bit sad.

I thought I'd do a review on the Makeup Revolution Give Them Nightmares Salvation palette, since it was released as a Limited Edition Halloween palette(although I will wear it all year-round, because I'm a sucker for dark, sparkly shades). As soon as I laid my eyes on this palette, I knew I had to have it. Even the packaging is impressive as it features a crescent moon and glowing yellow eyes, adding to the overall Halloween theme.
This palette was extremely hard to find, but I got incredibly lucky finding one on Ebay. I literally got the last one in stock.

This palette includes 18 matte and shimmer eyeshadows consisting of beautiful purple, green, blue, and black shades. With names like Friday the 13th, Elm St, and Bump in the Night, this palette is right up my alley! The top 12 shades have shimmer and satin finishes, and the bottom 6 are the matte finishes. It also includes a nice size mirror and a standard double ended eye shadow applicator. Makeup Revolution's palettes really remind me of Sleek Beauty's palettes in the way the shadows are arranged, the size of the actual palette, and the way everything is displayed.

Absolutely beautiful colors!

Aren't the names perfect?! The first white matte shade on the bottom is called Elm St, it was hard to see due to the white writing.

Let's get on to the swatches!

Unfortunately Pretty Zombie was kind of hard to build up and wasn't as pigmented as I hoped it would be. Maybe I'll try it foiled next time & see if that helps it any. As you all can see, the matte shades are definitely the most pigmented but all in all, this is a very well made palette with stunning color choices. Makeup Revolution creates high quality makeup, for budget friendly prices. Definitely glad I purchased it!

What do you all think about this palette? Are you a fan of Makeup Revolution? I'd love to see costumes/makeup that you all did for Halloween! As always, thanks so much for reading!

Nightmare Before Christmas Onesie!

October 25, 2017

Hey badass beauties!
This isn't beauty related, but I did say I'd post about fashion every now and then, and well.. onesie pajamas count as fashion, right? I'm gonna say yes!
I've been dying to find a Jack Skellington onesie forever, and I finally found one at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago when I was staying with my boyfriend. IT'S. SO. CUTE. And it was only $20!
It has a hood featuring Jack's face & the eye holes are made of mesh material so you can see through them. It also zips down in the front at the waist where the shirt & pants meet.

Need I say more?!

As somebody who is always cold & in pajamas(and who LOVES The Nightmare Before Christmas too much for her own good), I had to have it. The only downside is it doesn't have feet, but that's okay. I have plenty of fuzzy socks to substitute!

Are you all as excited for Halloween as I am?! Even though I never really do anything for Halloween anymore, I just love the time of year. I love the atmosphere, the creepy decor, the candy, & of course the limited edition Halloween clothes & makeup that comes out!
